How You Create Your World

I’m sure we’ve all had these moments before, where something becomes so incredibly clear, and you’re just in complete awe of life and so curious to see where the new idea will take you. This is one of my ‘aha’ moments, where I’m finally starting to understand how large an impact our thoughts play in our world.

Dear Brave Soul,

This is one of my personal journal entries, and as such, I’ve not written it with the intention of an audience. I’ve decided to share some of these reflections with you based on two desires:

1) to remember I am not alone — sharing my raw thoughts and being vulnerable may allow me to connect with others who have similar thoughts/feelings/experiences (aka, I’d love to hear from you!)

2) to remember I am not my ego — I believe we all have a right to share our opinions. However, for much of my life, even still, it’s been difficult for me to express myself out of fear someone will respond negatively. Being vulnerable and opening up with my potentially esoteric, or even controversial, thoughts is me facing that fear, and I understand it may very well cause my ego pain.

To note, these entries are largely unedited, though if I’ve added/clarified anything, you will see a ‘[…]’.

Sincerely,

my Dying Ego

January 28, 2021

Yesterday morning, the most incredible thing happened. I was on a Zoom call with my mastermind group, and our mentor played a clip from a YouTube video where Bob Proctor was explaining how our mind creates our reality, and how even more importantly, that it’s our responsibility to choose it. And if we don’t choose it, life becomes whatever our environment curates. However, we have the choice to curate it ourselves, and why not live the life of your dreams?!

Everything became so clear to me, and it all truly made sense. This video is something I need to listen to over and over again, because it really rings true to me, and I understand that I need it to hit my subconscious, and maybe it has a bit already, but because I grew up in a world where these things weren’t true, I have years of conditioning to replace.

Basically, what made me most excited, and what became so clear about all this was the idea that we can draw our future from either our internal or external world. Our mind takes the same process, whereby we sense our surroundings with our senses, the way we experience the world through seeing, tasting, touching, hearing, and smelling.

We can either do this and form our beliefs from our physical in the external world, which often puts us into a never ending loop of the same limiting beliefs. Or we have the option to pay more attention to what we sense in our envisioned world, in our internal world, within our mind. Which brings back the idea about why it’s so important to be in control of our mind. So many of us create our thoughts from the physical world and our associated limiting beliefs, and so our self talk is often negative, and we often don’t dream excitedly about our future, but instead berate ourselves and find ourselves depressed over our past, or worried about our future.

Now that I understand the process by which we create our lives, and that most people create from the physical world and the limiting beliefs passed down through fearful generations, now I understand that I have a choice. And this choice isn’t some airy fairy tale, it’s actually real, and so many have used this knowledge to create extraordinary lives. I just have to get into the habit of consciously designing my life and living in the knowing that it will come to be without doubt.

As I write this, I’m like, well this sounds crazy, but that’s my doubt coming up. I understand this is much different information than I ever grew up with, but it makes sense to me. Because there were so many times as a child that I dreamed about something, and now in my adult life it’s come into existence, or sometimes even as a child as well.

When I was a kid I had so many dreams, speaking of, I need to figure out where I wrote those down, and look over them again. I wrote them down in college when I started to doubt myself, and it reminding me of all the amazing things I had accomplished. I had wanted to play 3 instruments, and skip a grade, and learn how to speak Spanish. I had dreamed and imagined so much about making pasta with the mice in that magical red book with all the animals. I had wanted to go to Cornell, I had wanted to go to Spain. And all of these things I’ve done. I don’t believe they happened randomly, or out of coincidence. I believe they happened, because I dreamed them into being. Not because of my hard work, because that was the thing, I did put in effort, but I flowed through the effort, and I wasn’t dragging myself being miserable. It was almost as if I were being lead there, everything fell into place for me to take action on.

Anyway, I’m so excited to have finally put this connection together, and even more so to get to the point where I believe it without a doubt. I am a powerful, creator that will indeed change the world!
